Concerning Tarzan: the Original Monkey Whisperer 

Dead Eye Polly’s chef prepared their meal for the evening Julia Child’s recipe for French duck a l’orange, made substituting the duck with a small, fat goose ect…  

Naomi did not drink with them because of the antibiotics she was taking for the gunshot wound. It was healing fine they examined her and sent her home with more antibiotics and pain killers. The doctor commended Isaiah’s first aid and the excellent job he did stitching her wound shut. The clinics General practitioner told her he was going to leave them in until the wound finished healing and gave her an appointment to return in a week when he would examine her again and cut out the stitches. Naomi laughed, she had medics and corpsmen stitch me up before, this kids just as good. She sipped her Evian listening as the two men talked over the courses of the dinner. While the bruja sat at the end of the table rolling Havana’s in silence. 

The guy was an ass hole one of those lowkey nazi types, votes libertarian likes to talk about state rights all the time. But never what rights exactly. Exist in an morally bankrupt intellectual vacuum as if history was of no consequence on our present reality. If it was only this one guy but it’s happened several times. You’re hanging around a bunch of white people and one claims to have traced his bloodline back to Kings of England Clifford the Hair-lip cousin humper the third. Then everyone else tells a similar story they are all related to British royalty of French royalty are you detecting bull shit.  

Remember, this was pre-mail order civilian DNA so this was just sending your name and personal information about you and your parents to some rando company PO box give me your money idiot Nebraska and after a thoroughly scientific investigation they send you a boiler plate form with your name and the royalty you are related to according to whatever country the dart hit when they thew it at the map of Europe. These were all degreed professionals and they all thought it was real. This is not an isolated incident but the weird part is its always the low key nazi that initiates this line of conversation as if you’re supposed to join in this farce by jumping up and shouting, “We waz kangz!” Or some bullshit. They all laughed at the silliness of it.   

Isaiah added laughing. OK, I thought I was the only one but that happened to me several times in college so I guess DNA did not put them out of business. And you are right it’s some sort of weird lowkey white power thing they do and yes, it’s always the same type of person that does this sort of thing. The kind of guy that starts chanting USA on the bus. American Nazis.  

Tarzan was 18 years old when he met Jane Porter. Isaiah said as they at dinner in the estates dining room that led out to the patio at the edge of the cliffs over the ledge it was a 90-foot drop to the sea below. They held cliff diving championships here once a year. Oliver Danial’s is that kind of a racist cunt on campus the guy just keeps going on and on about how awesome ‘Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes’ was and how much he loves Tarzan, because he is such a pure hero, with no super powers, space age armor, or utility belt. Tarzan was just the pinnacle of the superior European man’s evolutionary advantage the ability to adapt to an alien negro environment and not only survive but thrive and rise above the lesser races indigenous to the dark continent. Polly can hardly suppress his laughter as Isaiah continues Naomi sits across the table not seeing where this is going yet.    

So, I feign ignorance and ask how long has Tarzan been in the jungle? Oliver continues explaining reverently that he was orphaned as an infant… an infant mind you! and raised by apes nearly as smart as the talking ones in planet of the apes. So, I ask innocently enough. When did he meet Jane?  

Oh, he gushes, they don’t meet until he’s 18 years old and Jane Porter is 20 when she is first seduced by the pure animal magnetism of the King of the Apes. Tarzan the Ape Man and he lost his virginity making love to her in his treetop huts hammock.   

Tarzan wasn’t a virgin. I explain. The average human male reaches puberty between ages of 8 and 14, so let’s say 11. He was raised by animals in the jungle so he’s been sexually active with none of our human society moral inhibitions between him and his libido being raised by a species of apes so gentle they kept a human infant alive and raise him as one of their own. He speaks their language so he has been having regular sextual intercourse with monkeys, apes and chimpanzees for at least seven years before he slept with Jane Porter. Isaiah said with a straight face.  

So, what you’re saying is that Tarzan is a monkey fucker. Naomi says with a straight face.  

Now Polly and Naomi are both roaring with laughter.  

Wait by that logic Jane is his side piece?! Naomi asks between guffaws.  

Poor Jane. Polly laughed shaking his head.  

Poor Cheetah, Isaiah sighed. The insidiousness of the entire mythos, after all who do they call monkeys as an insult? Isaiah asks rhetorically.  

Polly raised his glass as they drank and contemplated mediocre literature that not so subtly promotes white supremacist colonialist narratives. 

“Sacred Cows make the best hamburgers.”

[Primates]

5. Main Course: Goose à l’Orange with Bitter Orange Marmalade and Rosemary Potatoes 

-Description: The heart of the meal, a fat young goose, slow-roasted and glazed with a bittersweet orange sauce, reflecting the duality of joy and sorrow. Served with rosemary potatoes and a side of sautéed wild greens, the dish is both rich and comforting, yet tinged with the bitterness of loss. 

-Wine Pairing: A deep, full-bodied Bordeaux, such as Château Lafite Rothschild, whose complexity and richness mirror the depth of emotions being navigated tonight. 

6. Cheese Course: Aged Manchego with Honeycomb and Toasted Almonds 

-Description: A simple yet profound pairing of aged Manchego, with its nutty and slightly sharp profile, served alongside honeycomb and toasted Marcona almonds. This course offers a moment of sweetness and simplicity, evoking memories of shared comfort. 

-Wine Pairing: A glass of Amontillado Sherry, whose slightly oxidized, nutty character complements the cheese and almonds, offering a touch of warmth and solace. 

7. Dessert: Bitter Chocolate and Orange Tart with Salted Caramel 

-Description: A dark chocolate tart with a touch of bitter orange zest, served with a drizzle of salted caramel. The dessert encapsulates the evening’s theme—intense, bittersweet, and ultimately, a reminder of the sweetness that can be found even in the darkest moments.

After-Dinner: Silent Vigil
